01Start by looking for a Deokjeokdo ferry
The Korea Express Ferry Deokjeok-route page checked in October 2026 states that its service does not call at Soyado. This guide therefore uses a ferry to Deokjeokdo followed by land travel over Deokjeok–Soya Bridge. Do not read an old tourism reference to a Soyado call or connecting boat as a current sailing.
Even an official page can retain older explanatory text. Read the effective month of the sailing table alongside current notices. Search for 덕적 when choosing the ferry, then separately check that your accommodation address is on Soyado.
02Arrange the bridge transfer separately
There are two legs: your mainland port to Deokjeokdo, then the island pier to your Soyado destination. Compare Deokjeokdo sailings from Incheon or Daebudo and arrange land transport around your arrival. Do not assume that a ferry ticket includes a bus or pickup across the bridge.
Without a car, ask your accommodation about pickup and the meeting point, or check current local transport. A bridge connection does not make every destination a reasonable walk. Assess the whole distance using your exact destination, luggage and the abilities of your group.
03For camping, check the site and equipment independently
If planning to camp near Ttaeppuru Beach, confirm current booking arrangements and facilities first. A tourism description of a campsite does not confirm a pitch on your date, equipment hire or shower availability. It should not be read as permission to camp anywhere along the shore.
With bulky equipment, check both the ferry’s baggage rules and transport after landing. If bringing a car, arrange a vehicle-carrying Deokjeokdo sailing in both directions. Parking at the accommodation or campsite is a separate question from ferry availability.
04Return to the Deokjeokdo pier for the mainland ferry
Under this itinerary, your homeward ferry leaves from Deokjeokdo. Calculate the time to finish your Soyado activity separately from the time to cross the bridge and reach the pier. Confirm the return pickup or local transport and allow the operator’s required boarding time.
Weather disruption can still affect your way back to the mainland. The bridge connects the two islands; it does not replace the sea crossing to Incheon or Daebudo. Check operator notices before both ferry legs and allow flexibility before an onward flight or train.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not find a Soyado ferry ticket?
This guide’s route uses a Deokjeokdo ticket and a land transfer to Soyado. Check the current operator destination list and notices rather than relying on old direct-service references.
Is my accommodation close once I cross the bridge?
That depends on its location. The bridge is only one section of the journey. Check the distance from the ferry pier to the actual address and arrange the return transport too.
