01Start with the island’s transport options
The Incheon Tourism Organization lists buses, taxis and bicycles for Deokjeokdo, and buses and taxis for Jawoldo. This does not promise an immediately available taxi or a bus connection with every ferry. Confirm the service for your date and the location of your accommodation.
| Island | Car-free planning focus |
|---|---|
| Deokjeokdo | Bus or taxi between the pier and destinations such as Seopori |
| Jawoldo | A workable bus or taxi link to your beach or accommodation |
| Daeijakdo | Actual walking route and possible accommodation pickup |
| Soijakdo | Choose part of the Gaetti walking trail and plan the return |
| Seungbongdo | Group accommodation, beach and walking stops in one area |
| Soyado | Secure the transfer from Deokjeokdo across the bridge |
02Walkable does not always mean easy
A small island can still involve slopes, steps and difficult luggage handling. Use the actual walking route rather than a straight-line distance. Ask about surfaces and accommodation access if travelling with children or a stroller. A promoted walking trail is not automatically step-free.
For Daeijakdo, Soijakdo, Seungbongdo and Soyado, the portal’s transport field does not establish a complete regular-service timetable. We therefore do not claim that there are no buses, or that a taxi will always arrive. Ask your accommodation about pickup, charges, meeting point and the return transfer.
03Work backwards from the return ferry
Subtract the journey to the pier from your boarding deadline, then finish walking and meals before that time. Agree a precise location and time for a taxi or pickup. For Soyado, include the transfer back to the Deokjeokdo pier.
For a first visit, focusing on one part of one island reduces connections. If walking back would be unrealistic after a missed pickup, arrange an alternative before setting out.
