01Start with the ferry booking
Confirm the departure port and date before choosing transport from your accommodation. A Bangameori or Daebudo departure requires a different journey. For this route, set the final destination to 인천항 연안여객터미널 on Yeonanbudu-ro.
Use the operator’s check-in instructions to set your terminal arrival target. Then add the road connection, walking and waiting time to determine when to leave Seoul. This is a planning method, not a universal check-in allowance for every ferry.
02Use Dongincheon as a rail interchange
The official port directions describe a connection through Dongincheon Station on metropolitan Line 1, followed by bus or taxi. Search from your actual starting station. Line 1 has different destinations and service patterns, so check the train’s destination and stops before boarding.
First search the complete trip. As you approach Dongincheon, refresh the last connection to reflect current bus arrivals. An express train is not automatically the best option if reaching it adds a longer wait or extra transfer.
03What to take from Dongincheon Station
The port’s official directions describe crossing from Exit 2 toward Daehan Bookstore and boarding bus 12 or 24 at the stop in front of McDonald’s. Check direction as well as the number, and confirm the current stop and service with Incheon Bus Information. The port’s estimates below exclude waiting and the walk to the ticket counters; road conditions can change them.
- Bus: 12 or 24; the port guide estimates 30–40 minutes
- Taxi: about 6 km from Dongincheon; the port guide estimates 20 minutes
- Destination: 인천항 연안여객터미널, 70 Yeonanbudu-ro
04Check early sailings carefully
Search for your actual travel date, including whether it is a weekend or public holiday. Finding a first train is only one step; it must connect to onward transport and leave enough time for the ferry’s procedures. If the connection is too tight, compare a later sailing or accommodation closer to the port the night before.
For a direct car journey from Seoul, add parking and walking time to the navigation estimate. A vehicle-carrying reservation may require a different check-in point and timetable.
05Keep a route home
Save the journey from the return port through Dongincheon to your Seoul accommodation. Check the entire evening connection, not only the last bus from the harbour. If the ferry is delayed, search the route again before relying on your original itinerary.
Frequently asked questions
Is Dongincheon Station beside the ferry boarding point?
No. You still need the final bus or taxi journey to the terminal and time for ferry procedures.
How many hours should I allow from Seoul?
It depends on your starting point, date, connections and operator deadlines. Search a dated door-to-terminal journey and add the required ferry preparation time.
Will a taxi always be faster than the bus?
No. Compare the current wait, road conditions and remaining check-in time before deciding.
