01Choose the exact destination
Daeijakdo (대이작도) and Soijakdo (소이작도) are separate destinations. Ijak is also the name of a route serving several islands, so check the destination printed on your booking. Deokjeokdo (덕적도) and Soyado (소야도) also require different planning.
| Island | What to search | Next decision |
|---|---|---|
| Daeijakdo | 대이작 in the Ijak route | Transport from the pier to your accommodation |
| Soijakdo | 소이작 in the Ijak route | Check that you have not selected Daeijak |
| Seungbongdo | 승봉 | Route from the pier to your chosen beach |
| Jawoldo | 자월 from Incheon or Daebu | Local transport to your accommodation |
| Deokjeokdo | 덕적; compare vessel types | Passenger ticket or vehicle transport |
| Soyado | 덕적 followed by the bridge | Transfer from Deokjeok pier to Soyado |
02Compare the whole journey
Search both outward and return sailings for your actual dates. Then add the time and cost of reaching each mainland port. If you are bringing a car, check the vessel and its loading procedure separately; a passenger seat does not establish vehicle space.
Calling order can change by date and sailing. A route map or an old timetable cannot establish the quickest option. Use the dated booking results together with the operating notice. All travel times should be read in Korea Standard Time.
03Check the return before planning a day trip
Your usable island time ends before the return ferry departs: allow for getting back to the pier and completing boarding. A reservation also does not guarantee that weather will permit sailing.
For Soyado, this guide uses the Deokjeokdo ferry followed by the bridge. Korea Express Ferry explicitly excludes a Soyado call on its Deokjeok route. Some official tourism information lists a Daebu–Soyado service, so ask that operator about the actual landing for your date before choosing it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use one ticket to hop between these islands?
Do not treat a ticket for one booked sector as an island-hopping pass. Check and book each inter-island sector separately if it is available.
Is a saved timetable enough?
Keep it for reference, but recheck the operator’s live status on departure day. Check the return sailing as well.
