01Choose between a fast passenger ferry and a car ferry

Korea Express Ferry’s Deokjeok route distinguishes fast passenger and car-ferry services from Incheon. Before comparing journey times, decide whether you need to take a vehicle, how you will handle luggage and where you will go after landing. Check the actual ship and departure for your date.

A passenger seat does not confirm car transport. Ask about the vehicle procedure for the chosen ship. Bicycles and powered leisure equipment also need ship-specific checks rather than an assumption that every vessel accepts them.

02Compare the route, not just the mainland port name

Alongside Korea Express Ferry’s Deokjeok route, check Daebu Shipping’s Incheon information. For Bangameori, use Daebu Shipping’s Daebudo timetable. Even services described as Incheon to Deokjeokdo can have different intermediate calls; do not apply one operator’s journey time to another sailing.

Read the date, vessel, departure port, Deokjeokdo arrival and return departure together. If the return arrives at a different mainland port, allow for collecting a parked car or a different journey home. Compare the complete itinerary against your priorities rather than choosing solely by departure time.

03Plan the journey from the island pier

Seopori Beach, Batjireum Beach and Bijo Peak are distinct destinations. Mark your accommodation and main activity before deciding how to leave the pier. Without a car, check current local transport or a confirmed accommodation pickup. Do not assume a bus automatically connects with your arrival.

For Soyado, add a land transfer over Deokjeok–Soya Bridge. The existence of a bridge does not mean your accommodation is a short walk from the ferry. Check the entire route from the pier to the destination. Our Soyado guide covers how to connect that onward journey with your return crossing.

04Complete the plan with the journey back to the pier

Decide when to finish the beach, hike or Soyado visit and how to get back in time for the operator’s boarding requirements. If taking a car, confirm the loading procedure rather than using the same arrival assumption as a passenger without a vehicle.

Review official operating notices before departure. A changed date or replacement vessel may also change the arrangements for your vehicle or equipment. The buttons lead to official timetable pages, where you can continue to the operator’s booking route. Published schedules are not a guarantee of same-day operation.

Frequently asked questions

Can every Deokjeokdo ferry carry my car?

No. Distinguish fast passenger ferries from vehicle-carrying services, then check the vessel, date, vehicle class and loading procedure. Passenger booking is not vehicle confirmation.

Do I take another boat from Deokjeokdo to Soyado?

This guide plans the onward journey by land over Deokjeok–Soya Bridge. Arrange transport to your Soyado destination and the return to the Deokjeokdo departure pier.
