01Identify the vessel first

Korea Express Ferry’s FAQ describes vehicle carriage on its Deokjeok Korea Express service, with same-day first-come loading. This is not a universal rule for every operator. Check your dated sailing and any replacement-vessel notice.

For vehicle transport to Jawol, Ijak and Seungbong, the same FAQ directs enquiries to Daebu Shipping at 032-887-6669. State the island, mainland port and vehicle type. Do not assume that an Incheon departure and a Daebu departure use identical procedures.

02Prepare the information before calling

Getting the vehicle conditions first lets you coordinate passenger tickets and the road journey. Confirm these details directly with the operator.

03Plan for a queue and the return journey

First-come loading does not guarantee space merely because you arrive early. Decide what you will do if the vehicle cannot be carried. Check return passenger seats and vehicle arrangements separately. If you leave the car on the mainland, establish where it can be parked.

Follow staff instructions about the driver and accompanying passengers during loading and unloading. For Soyado, consider the Deokjeok ferry followed by the bridge, but confirm your return vehicle procedure from Deokjeok as a separate step.

Frequently asked questions

Can a fast passenger ferry carry my car?

Do not assume so. Passenger-only fast craft and car ferries are different. Check the specific vessel even when both serve the same island.

Is a bicycle handled like a car?

Not necessarily. The operator’s cargo table gives vessel-specific bicycle information. Check the actual sailing and any separate charge or limit.
